Bring what you can build.

Engineers, machinists, A&P mechanics, programmers, technical writers, self-taught builders. A degree is optional. The work isn't.

How it works

Pick a project. Open work will go in AOSSI's public repository once it exists.

Read the contributor terms. Licenses, the revenue-share agreement, the export-control policy. All of it, ideally.

Do the work. Design, code, test, document. The repository history will record who did what.

Get credited and paid. If your work ships in a product, you'll earn a net-revenue share for the life of that product line.

How builders are paid

Contributors will be independent contractors. Each will earn a net-revenue share for the life of the product line. Later contributors will never dilute your share. If a new product reuses your earlier work, you'll get a proportional carryover. You'll be able to give part of your own share to teammates.

These terms are drafts, pending attorney review. Final terms will be published before anyone signs a contributor agreement.

Export control

Space hardware can fall under ITAR and EAR export rules. AOSSI will review every release before it goes out. Nothing controlled will be published without authorization.

Planned: certificates of understanding, so anyone can qualify to work on AOSSI projects. Planned means not yet.
